I've heard that one major difference between AMD 'Enduro' switching and Nvidia Optimus is that AMD provides an official, supported method of switching. However, in order to switch between the Intel card and the AMD card you have to kill your X server, use the switching script to switch xorg.conf files and libgl/x libraries, then restart it. A giant pain in the ass is what it is, and absolutely impractical.
However it does work, though I've noticed that using dual monitors with fglrx causes major artifacting, rendering dual monitors with this setup unusable. • Wine -- As might be expected, Wine games are held back by typically poor performance of fglrx in Wine. They can work, and with Borderlands2 I was able to get decent performance with the CSMT patches that showed up a few weeks ago. League of Legends works well. • Native Games -- As of right now this is the best environment for native games.
